Rimax e Intermón crean una gama de productos de memoria para reducir la brecha digital en África. “Memoria solidaria” es un nuevo concepto de almacenamiento digital con valor solidario
A partir de ahora, una acción tan cotidiana como comprar dispositivos de memoria se puede convertir en algo más que una simple acción comercial. La marca Rimax lanza de la mano de Intermón Oxfam “Memoria solidaria”, un nuevo concepto de productos de almacenamiento digital con valor solidario. La particularidad es que el 12% de la venta de cada unidad se destinará a financiar un proyecto humanitario de mejora educativa que la organización está llevando a cabo en Mozambique y Angola.
Rimax e Intermón Oxfam han llegado a un acuerdo de colaboración que servirá para costear un proyecto que desde hace 10 años está trabajando para que los habitantes de estos países, especialmente niños y mujeres, puedan disfrutar del derecho a la educación y conseguir que el sistema público les garantice una educación equitativa y de calidad. El proyecto se ha ampliado hasta 2010 y se desarrolla las provincias de Cabo Delgado en Mozambique y Huambo y Bié en Angola.
Tecnología para luchar contra la brecha digital
Rimax apuesta por dotar de valor solidario los productos de uso tan cotidiano a nivel individual o empresarial como son los dispositivos de almacenamiento. Además, la marca apuesta porque sean precisamente los beneficios que se obtengan a través de la venta de tecnología, los que ayuden en la lucha contra la brecha digital entre países desarrollados y subdesarrollados.
La marca da un paso adelante en su estrategia de responsabilidad social corporativa y quiere contribuir a la sensibilización social y a la financiación de proyectos de desarrollo humanitario.
Llaves y tarjetas con memoria solidaria
La gama “Memoria solidaria” de Rimax ofrecerá todo tipo de dispositivos de almacenamiento digital. En una primera fase, la marca lanza cuatro modelos de llaves de memoria USB y tarjetas para cámaras digitales de 1 y 2 GB. Más adelante, está previsto que la oferta se amplie con DVD y CD vírgenes y pulseras solidarias con memoria.
Las nuevas llaves y tarjetas de memoria presentan una imagen solidaria ya que están personalizadas exteriormente con el color y el logotipo de Intermón Oxfam. Además, en su interior, incorporan cuatro tipos de salvapantallas con la imagen de la oenegé. Además se ha creado un portal de Internet (www.memoriasolidaria.com) donde se puede encontrar información sobre el proyecto, la gama de productos y los lugares físicos y online donde se pueden adquirir.
Más de 2.500 profesores y 70 alumnos beneficiados
Una de las principales causas del origen de la pobreza en Mozambique y Angola es su bajo nivel educativo con tasas de analfabetismo femenino que superan el 75 % y índices masculinos de más del 35 %. La falta de escuelas y profesores, la baja formación del cuerpo docente y la falta de adaptación y recursos de los programas a las necesidades de la población son las principales causas de la precariedad educativa.
Con la venta de “Memoria Solidaria”, Rimax espera contribuir a mejorar la educación que reciban los niños de estos países y la formación profesional y de salud sexual y reproductiva de la población adulta mediante el apoyo a:
- 2.938 profesores/as tanto de educación primaria como secundaria, de formación profesional.
- 578.272 niños, jóvenes y mujeres adultas, en acciones destinadas a superar la discriminación de género.
- Además, 72.590 menores, en la mejora de la calidad de la educación a medida que los profesores puedan formarse mejor.
La marca espera poder aportar mediante el proyecto de memoria solidaria más de 20.000€ en 2007 y triplicar esta cantidad en 2008.
