Desde instalar el correo electrónico a unos auriculares de Bluetooth o Wi-Fi, la nuevo Centro de Instalación permite que la experiencia sea mucho más intuitiva y sencilla.
Getting Started Center
Este Centro de Instalación ayuda a los usuarios a utilizar las tareas básicas del teléfono durante los primeros 10 dÃas. Getting Started muestra cómo instalar tareas importantes, como la fecha y el tiempo, el correo electrónico personal y corporativo, contraseñas de seguridad, Bluetooth, tonos del teléfono asà como la posibilidad de transferir música desde el PC.
Pantalla Hoy con panel deslizante
Windows Mobile 6.1 permite a las personas llegar a la información que necesitan de forma sencilla. Una de las primeras cosas que los usuarios 
notarán es el nuevo interface de la pantalla hoy. El panel deslizante ofrece información de forma rápida y de un vistazo del reloj, los avisos (incluyendo correo de voz, llamadas perdidas y mensajes de texto), correo electrónico, citas, música y, opcionalmente, Windows Live para Windows Mobile. El proceso de sincronización remoto de los dispositivos basados en Windows Mobile 6.1 ha sido mejorado con Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1). La arquitectura de sincronización ha sido rediseñada para reducir el ancho de banda en hasta un 60% y mejorar el tiempo de la baterÃa en hasta un 33% (según las pruebas realizadas comparando dispositivos Windows Mobile 6 y Windows Mobile 6.1).
Cortar, Copiar y Pegar
Con dispositivos Windows Mobile 6.1 de pantalla no táctil, ahora se puede seleccionar, cortar, copiar y pegar texto, lo que mejora significativamente la experiencia de usuario. Esta funcionalidad estará disponible para componer mensajes electrónicos en Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile, para SMS y para trabajar con campos editables en Internet Explorer Mobile. Esta caracterÃstica estaba antes sólo disponible en dispositivos Windows Mobile con pantallas táctiles.
Aplicación de Gestión de Tareas
Windows Mobile 6.1 añade un Gestor de Tareas para ayudar a los usuarios a manejar y controlar mejor la memoria y la baterÃa de sus dispositivos al permitirles cerrar y conectar con aplicaciones y programas. También podrán ver el rendimiento general de los datos relativos a la memoria del dispositivo y el uso de la CPU. Por ejemplo, si una persona quiere escuchar música utilizando Windows Media Player Mobile a la vez que utiliza otras aplicaciones, un mensaje aparecerá notificando la insuficiencia de memoria para poner en marcha el reproductor.
