Los cuatro ganadores en la fase final de “El Desafío” fueron, el británico Ivan Hoo (retrato), David Bernard de la República Checa (deporte), el francés Alan Laboile (macro) y Dave Derbis de Alemania (paisaje).
Los ganadores fueron elegidos en una intensa y competida sesión final celebrada en Viena, coincidiendo con la celebración del campeonato europeo de fútbol UEFA Euro 2008TM. En total, compitieron cuatro parejas de finalistas en una serie de pruebas, a lo largo de 4 días.
Celebrado en un total de 18 países europeos , entre los meses de marzo y mayo, se presentaron un total de 43.404 imágenes a “El Desafío 2008″, en las cuatro categorías: retrato, paisaje, deporte y macro.
Los ganadores de cada país compitieron después con los de otros países, siendo seleccionados por un panel de expertos, presidido por la premiada fotógrafa Vicki Couchman, especializada en fotografía de reportaje, viajes y retrato.
