La estrategía de la multinacional coreana para el 2010 en el mercado de móviles se centrará en el desarollo y comercialización de terminales inteligentes (smartphones) bajo el eslogán de “Democratizar el smartphones”.
En un discurso pronunciado en el CTIA, JK Shin , Presidente y Director de la División de Telecomunicaciones en Samsung Electronics, nunció el objetivo de Samsung para “impulsar la democratización del smartphone” y para “poner los smartphones a disposición de todo el mundo, independientemente de su coste, necesidad, estilo de vida o emplazamiento geográfico.”
Shin también presentó el concepto de Vida Inteligente (“Smart life”), entendiendo por esta “el suministro de una experiencia del smartphone sencilla, organizada e integrada. La Vida Inteligente es sinónimo de flexibilidad y versatilidad, para permitir a los usuarios de los smartphones personalizar sus experiencias con el objetivo de satisfacer sus propias necesidades.”
Según las estimaciones del sector, las ventas mundiales de smartphones se van a duplicar en el año 2013, hasta alcanzar un cuarto de todos los terminales vendidos. Hoy por hoy, los smartphones son adquiridos por los usuarios más experimentados pero ya empieza a evidenciarse una tendencia entre los nuevos consumidores de exigir ciertas prestaciones, como la conectividad online y el acceso a las redes sociales, que los terminales convencionales no ofrecen, lo que representa una gran oportunidad de crecimiento para los equipos más avanzados.
