Dell se ha sumado al mercado de los smartphones Android con un terminal ligero y de bajo precio, el “Aero”
El Aero tiene una pantalla táctil de 3,5 pulgadas (8,8 centímetros) y una cámara de cinco megapixeles, además de que cuenta con funciones para editar videos y fotografías.
Como otros dispositivos basados en Android suma a sus prestaciones todas aquellas herramientas propias de la plataforma, como Navegador, Maps, acceso a redes sociales, etc.
Curiosamente, Dell ha apostado por lanzar un terminal con la versión 1,5 de Android, muy anterior a la que están implantando los más actuales, la 2.1. El motivo, esta versión de Android precisa menos recursos de hardware para su funcionamiento.
No obstante, Dell sostiene que ha realizado una cantidad importante de trabajo agregándole otras herramientas al sistema base de Google acercándole a las prestaciones que los usuarios pueden encontrar en las versiones más recientes de la plataforma Android.
Dell dijo que el Aero se puede sincronizar con Windows Media Player y la música sin protección de copias del iTunes de Apple Inc.

Dell tiene otro aparato que usa el Android y está a la venta a través de AT&T Inc. El Streak, que cuesta 300 dólares con un contrato de dos años o 550 sin el contrato, tiene una pantalla de cinco pulgadas (12,7 centímetros).
