Ya empezaron a circular e-mails que dicen llevar a fotos inéditas del cantante, pero se tratan de casos de phishing o correos que instalan software malicioso.
Agencias – A partir de la gran efervescencia que ha creado la muerte del cantante Michael Jackson, aquellos que quieren sacar alguna ventaja del interés del público, sobre todo en Internet, no tardan en aparecer.
Porque según advirtió la división de ciberseguridad -US-CERT- del departamento de Seguridad Interior (DHS por su sigla en inglés) advirtió este viernes que los estafadores y tramposos que operan en internet buscan sacar provecho de las muertes de Michael Jackson y Farrah Fawcett.
US-CERT dijo estar al tanto “de denuncias públicas de un aumento significativo de campañas de correo basura, ataques de phishing y divulgación de código malicioso que apuntan contra las recientes muertes de Michael Jackson y Farrah Fawcett”.
“Mensajes de correo electrónico pueden intentar la obtención de información del usuario por medio del phishing o la apropiación de direcciones de correo electrónico si el propietario responde a dichos mensajes”, dijo US-CERT.
“Además, los mensajes pueden contener código malicioso o un vínculo a un aparentemente legítimo sitio de internet que contenga ese código”, agregó.
La empresa de seguridad informática Websense también detectó correos electrónicos spam que ofrecen a los destinatarios enlaces a videos y fotografías no publicadas del cantante Michael Jackson.
El correo electrónico spam parece ofrecer un enlace a un video en YouTube, pero en cambio envía al destinatario un “Trojan Downloader” (un programa malicioso del tipo troyano) hospedado en un sitio Web de riesgo.
El archivo que se ofrece se llama Michael.Jackson.videos.scr (MD5: 664cb28ef710e35dc5b7539eb633abca). Este archivo está ubicado en un sitio Web legítimo hospedado en Australia que pertenece a una estación de radio. Con la ejecución del archivo, el explorador predeterminado abre un sitio Web legítimo en un sitio de música de UOL que tiene como objetivo distraer al usuario con la presentación de artículos noticiosos para leer.
Ataques de phishing son intentos de cibercriminales para obtener nombres de usuarios y claves por medio de réplicas de páginas web, lo que les permite acceder luego a sus cuentas.
US-CERT sugiere cautela al abrir correo electrónico no solicitado y recomienda que los usuarios estén seguros de que sus programas antivirus estén actualizados.
