En el segundo trimestre, la cuota de mercado de Nokia en el mercado de ‘smartphones’ de Europa Occidental se redujo a la mitad respecto a los tres meses previos, a apenas 11 por ciento, y la compañía finlandesa quedó en el ránking de ese segmento por debajo de Samsung, el fabricante de BlackBerry Research In Motion y la taiwanesa HTC.
"Los aparatos con Android como Samsung, HTC y Sony Ericsson han sido capaces de obtener un sólido volumen y arrebatar la porción más grande de mercado a la declinante Symbian, mientras Nokia adopta Windows Phone", dijo Jeronimo.
Las ventas de Nokia han quedado afectadas debido a que la firma trata de vender teléfonos inteligentes usando el anticuado software Symbian, que ha abandonado en favor del Windows Phone de Microsoft.
